Turn 6
4 Wealth is collected, none are spent.

“Lord Sagon,
It has come to my attention that your army has moved way off our lines of communication, and is preparing to besiege an enemy town, which is protected by superior forces.
I urge you to fall back and concentrate north-east of Günbár Castle, until more troops arrive to bolster your army, or a coordinated attack can be made.”

AS is infuriated by the order and charges the city. He is opposed by 17 units which sally out to face him. He is defeated but manages to retreat with the loss of 1 unit.

TG moves West, finds Mountain, no enemies. From the mountain top, he can see that the nearby enemy town has 18 units. He redirects 2HI from the Tungbár garrison, and prepares to attack with the reinforcements coming next turn. (Time to make some unit tokens)

Two more Barbarian towns are placed, one with a 16 and one with a 20 unit garrison.
Temple score = 187

Turn 7
Double tax is raised: 8 Wealth is collected, the arable land has discontent. (12 total). TG receives 2 Medium Cav and 2 Spearmen (10 total); AS receives Spearmen. By his own initaitve, AS takes 3 Heavy Inf from the Trilagbár garrison.

TG attacks the enemy town. The enemy loses 50% of units and surrenders the town. 2 HI are sent back to Tungbár, 2 Spearmen are left at the town, which is re-named Osor Gop.
Temple score same, no discovery.

Turn 8
TG is met by a Barbarian delegation. They tell him to withdraw to the castles held by the Kingdom and remain there, or a host will come and take him. He ignores the threat and continues.

Time until Barbarian Invasion: 1d6=6 turns.

4 Wealth is collected (+1 for the town, -1 for discontent). TG recruits 2S.

TG moves North, finds Mountain, no enemies; east, finds Mountain, no enemies.

AS moves West, finds mountain with 6 enemy units, autoresolve: he is beaten back.

“Lord Sagon,
While I have no power to relieve you, I must warn you that, your conduct being far from exemplary, I can make sure that your service here on the Border gets notified by the competent authorities at court. Therefore I urge you to heed my advice and retreat towards Trilagbár at once.”

Temple score = 184

Turn 9
Time until invasion = 5
5 Wealth is collected, AS buys an Elephant.
AS moves SE, finds Desert, no enemies, then SE again, Desert, no enemies.

TG moves East, finds Mountains, no enemies, then North, finds Barren Land, with 7 enemy units. He defeats them in battle, 4 units retreat to the adjacent zone.

“General,
A Barbarian invasion is imminent. Please continue your retreat on the eastern side of the mountains towards Trilagbár, and wait there for further orders. You may distribute your garrison across the three forts once you are there. If you cooperate, I may let slide the purchase of the Elephants’ crews and equipment from our common treasury.”

A plan begins to form. TG correctly surmises that the two known Barbarian settlements will be the place where the enemy host gathers. If he can defeat one settlement in detail, then the colony might just survive. He must now chase the Barbarians directly ahead back to the settlement, and lay siege to it.
Temple score = 181

Turn 10
Time until invasion = 4
5 Wealth are collected. TG purchases an Archers and a HI.

An expedition to the seashore finds a Lake, a Mountain and two Deserts. These do not count towards the Temple score.

Temple score = 179

AS moves east, finds Mountain, no enemies, then SE, Barren land, 5 enemy units. He defeats them, they retreat southward.

TG attacks the enemy garrison ahead of 15 units, they are defeated, and losing 8 units, retreats to the town. By the roll, the zone would be a Lake, but I made it a Desert and placed a lake next to it.
Temple score = 177

Turn 12
Time until invasion = 2
4 zones collect double wealth, 1 Discontent, 1 Rebellion. 9 Wealth are collected (10 total), 5 units join the garrison forces.

AS attacks the Barbarians again, rolled for a Lake, placed it in the adjacent zone, this one is Barren. The Barbarian foe is defeated.

“Lord Sagon,
I urge you to crush the Rebel forces taking our rye fields. You may spend some time recuperating at Trilagbár, but restoring order there is of utmost importance.”

TG attacks the Barbarian fort. The defenders sally with 18 units. In the battle of Kantugan Gop, the army defeats the enemy by destroying two enemy units while losing none. The enemy General falls to an arrow wound, and in the ensuing chaos, only 8 units reach the city, while another 8 surrender.
Temple score = same

Turn 13

Discontent is removed, 4 Wealth is collected. They store it up.

AS moves towards the rebel zone in the hope of a quick victory.

AS arrives to crush the rebels and manages to defeat them without loss
Temple score 175, not met

Turn 15

AS recruits Elephants just because, and moves north on favourable land (2 Wealth remaining) - this is actually a good choice considering the possible route of the enemy attack

TG moves east, finds Barren land with 7 enemies, destroys them

Turn 16
6 Wealth collected, total 7, 3 spent on Kantugan Gop garrison, 1 remaining

The Barbarian army suffers 50% casualties and is pushed back
Temple score 172, not met

Turn 17
6 Wealth collected, total 7, 3 units purchased for Tungbár garrison, 1 Wealth remaining

AS hesitant to chase barbarians, they retreat towards the unknown zones
AS moves north, finds Mountain, no enemies

TG moves NE, finds Mountain, no enemies
Temple score 170, not met

“Dear Master Sagon,
Please stay and patrol the northern border while I move to assault the barbarian village the location is known of.
Don’t forget the Elephants.”

Turn 18
The northern barbarian invasion army will recuperate for 10 turns, after which it receives +1d6 for each unit type.

Osor Gop has fallen to a barbarian army!

5 Wealth collected, 6 total, all spent on Tungbár garrison

AS late to react as the previous orders told otherwise, moves west, finds Desert, no enemies

TG moves west, finds Mountain, no enemies
Temple score 168, not met

Turn 19
Barbarian recup = 9
5 wealth collected, Günbár +2 garrison, 1 wealth remaining

The Western Barbarian army besieges Tungbár Castle.
Broke it down to 0/6/3
The first siege attempt fails as the defenders return to the citadel

AS moves to relieve Tungbár

TG moves west, finds Lake, falls back
Temple score 167, the temple is found hidden beneath Turguvan Lake!

“My King!
My heart and soul belongs to you, my liege, when I humbly inform you that the Temple of Bar Koth has been found in the far-flung Western Regions I had been sent by Your Benevolence for the very purpose of acquiring knowledge of its whereabouts.
The temple may be reached by a hidden vault from the shore, and the air inside is breathable. I went down and saw treasures in heaps and gold coins by the hundreds.
There are also tablets and scrolls of wisdom within, therefore I humbly ask for court sages to be sent from home to examine them thoroughly.
There is a Barbarian settlement nearby, which might cause trouble further down our venture, so I will make all due haste with my Contingent to disable it.
As I am tasked with defending the Western Borders of your great Kingdom, I would also humbly apply for any military aid the Kingdom can spare for expanding that Border and protect it from the uncouth Foe.”

From here on, the following options are in play:
- Conclude the campaign and tie it all up (although we gave the barbarians time to rally and for a reason)
- TG is recalled and all battles are auto-resolve until the colony falls or he is sent back
- TG is recalled, AS steps forward and is sort of roleplayed as a less decisive general
- TG remains, the campaign follows and he continues conquering the barbarians (this would allow for some interesting turns of events, new barbarian factions showing up etc.)

The securing of the temple and reducing the enemy invasion is of utmost importance, so the game continues.

TG will be recalled for a period of eight turns after 1d6=5 turns, right before the Barbarians attack again!
